Happy Halloween

Quick(-ish) piece done this evening.  After spending the last month working on game maps, really needed to get back to something more figure-oriented.

MWMag Presents: Miss Nekra!

Monster Women Magazine, December 1973 issue.

Perhaps a bit nerdier than usual.  I just wanted to paint super-pale/white-ish skin.

SR character sketches

New campaign, new characters.  As usual, we are playing a weird-ass bunch of one-note jokes that we are somehow trying to turn into actual characters.  We'll see how it goes.

Yup, that's a gorilla in a bow tie.   That's magic (and Shadowrun) for you.

4 pages done...

1st 4 interior pages done.  8 to go, 2 of which are currently in-progress.  All of 'em planned out already.  Front/back covers already done.  I am getting there.

4 days to go!

two more WIP bits:

Also, have snookered Miss Rubi Kayobi to be a model for MWMag Digest.  Been waiting for something where our projects overlapped, thrilled it finally happened.

Check out Update #9 here.

MWMag Presents: Miss OBEY!

August '88 issue.  Second cover from that year, the first double so far.  Also the first monster woman painting that I actually find creepy.

Kickstarter has 15 days remaining!

...more fake advertising

...and the absurd image-dump continues...

Monster Women Trading Cards...

The final version of the MW card packaging, as well as the additional About The Artist card.  I'm getting there, slowly.

Shadow-Lass!  Simply because I wanted to try painting blue skin.

From 7th Voyage of Sinbad.  Good 'ol Sadi...I pretended that Sokourah's spell also made her younger.  This was painted specifically for the MWMag lunchbox.  Yes, really.

Monster Woman card-backs

Ahhh, extra (unnecessary?) artwork.  I've been fighting a Silvar painting for months now, and wanted to make sure she was included in this project as "Space Giants" was a very significant influence on my formative years.  I've similarly been struggling with a Satanico Pandemonium painting (on my 3rd version, which still isn't working), so likewise I wanted to make sure she made it in.  Still potentially doing a Princess Aura (mix of Ornella Muti and the old serial version) as well as a Brigitte Helm for these.  We'll see how it goes.

Clea, girlfriend of Doctor Strange.  Apparently she borrowed his Cloak of Levitation.  No word on the Orb of Agamatto.

Monster Women Magazine Presents: Miss Lucy Ferra!

Okay, so this cover I made up out of whole cloth.  There's a fumetti titled "Lucifera", but that wasn't at all what I was going for.   Also dated this issue for the year & month I was born, since Lucy's my own creation and I have no covers from the 70s planned.   Just wanted to paint an old-fashioned devil girl.

2013 Year-in-Review

Meh.  Was on a pretty good roll, and then life happened.  Lost job, death in the family, etc. Lost a lot of time.  Well, there's always next year...'cuz I am fucking DONE with this one.

...and here are all things I DIDN'T get done in 2013.  Some of which are the same projects I didn't get done in 2012.  umm, huzzah?

"That's a mighty good smoke!"

Leave it to me to start something new whilst still struggling to finish current projects.  This is a full-page ad from the pages of Monster Women Magazine.  And yes, of course I'm designing a real pack of Mighty Gud's.  Who wouldn't want a blend of 37 herbs and tobacco, scientifically* guaranteed to improve your smile as well as your wits?

"*": not scientific, nor guaranteed

unfinished stuff

I really have been working.  Life has been trying to get me so as always, I'm drawing/painting my way out of the hole.  Lost a few weeks along the way, but that's to be expected.  So.

All of these are in-progress, btw.  Top is a a straight copy of a pulp cover for practice (and to decipher that style of painting), then a bit for some fake advertising, then yet another Monster Women piece.
