Isometric Nostromo WIP

As part of my Fallout: Australis nonesense, I started drawing isometric map assets for online play. And then I decided that an iso version of The Nostromo would be fun. Still not finished, but pretty close. Have individual map elements for all of the ship except cargo bay and cockpit.

Fallout RPG sheets

So over lockdown, I really dug into my long-simmering Fallout: Australis idea. Refined the system into something quasi-usable - very heavily influenced by old Fallout 1 & 2, as well as the recent Wasteland series of games. Naturally, I made some custom character sheets in my version of the Fallout style.

Fallout: Australis

Been doing these pretty quick in Sketchbook Pro as warmups for other work.
As I've stated before (repeatedly, at length...) I love the Fallout franchise of games, all of 'em.  Well, not Brotherhood of Steel, but 1, 2, Tactics, 3, and New Vegas.  The design work is stellar across the board, and incorporates so much cheezy retro goodness!
So my game crew is always looking for short, diversionary games to play, and last year I hit upon the idea of a Fallout rpg.  The question was how to make it new & interesting, since we've all played through the games already.  Solution: have the PCs shanghai'd and drop them somewhere that they know nothing about.  This turned into the Fallout: Australis project, and I've bashed together a simple system built on the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. stats & skills.
For my money, key to the Fallout style are the visuals...to that end, I'm illustrating a bunch of game items, to be printed onto cards (with stats) because I IZ NERD.  More to come.

umm...yeah.

So, I did mention that I have a problem.  Right?
EDIT:  So after scrolling through all the SR drawings on here...i think i really have improved.  And am able to acknowledge that fact...which was the entire point of this here blog, tracking a body of work over time.  Only took 4.5 years, too.   PROGRESS!

There's plenty that's wonky with this illo, but it was done with reference only for the facial features & skintones.  The previous two had no reference at all.  I could not have done this even a year ago...so, yeah.  progress.

SR, yet again.

So instead of doing anything truly productive, today turned into an Art+Gaming day.  Honestly, I'm okay with that.  Needed the recharge.  No reference, Sketchbook Pro followed by Artrage.  Many, many iterations...worked on this in small to medium chunks all day.

More SR character stuff

All digital, using the full array of software i have at hand.  sketchbook pro, artrage, ancient PS.  No reference, which explains the wonky features & general cartoonishness.

Fallout-style Japanese robot

Early concept piece for this crazy idea i had.  I have some ideas for the body style, but wanted to get something down now.  This is based on a wacked-out diecast toy from the 50's.  Symbol on the head is the Mon of the Shogun, symbol on chest is the Mon of the particular warlord(actually, it's a current logo for a japanese prefecture.)  This'll have a huge torso and arms for intimidation factor, built on a hover chassis.
I am such a nerd.

Full Nerd

So i got the request to do a "severe businesswoman" drawing for game night.  Game was cancelled, so i drew instead.  The other one is of this character our crew ran into, Oni-chan.  Oni-chan is not long for our game world, he just doesn't realize it yet.  But i wanted to see if i could translate oni-style facial deformations onto something more realistic.  Meh.
